All profits from fund-raising activities of the American Women’s Club of Denmark go to its charitable work, particularly the Philanthropy Award, given every year to a project in or near Copenhagen. Recipients over the last two decades include:
The Heart Pillow Project makes heart-shaped pillows to relieve post-surgery pain for women with breast cancer (2025).
Lykkeliga is the world’s happiest handball league, with more than 1,500 players on more than 80 teams. The teams are open to all, but most members have a developmental disability (2024).
Comfort Mouse Denmark is an association of volunteers who crochet, knit and sew Comfort Mouse for hospitals, private practitioners, psychiatry, hospices, shelters, etc. (2024).
Through free music lessons and the lending of instruments, helps children in vulnerable positions become whole, harmonious and capable (2023).
